this project was a design and build project completed with kalmar construction acting as main contractor and greenstone group as project managers.
the project created a 60 apartment residential complex, with ground floor retail space to two of the four street frontages. build in for blocks with courtyard parking to screen it from the street, it addresses the street environment and provides a neighbourhood centre for the burgeoning hobsonville point community.
drawing on the concept of a warehouse conversion in a former military industrial complex, the design sought to use simple massing with introduced feature components and facade rhythm to break the building down to the human scale.
the use of traditional facade proportion in a contemporary fashion has provided a design that resonates with it's surroundings.
