A combined central distribution centre of 15,000sqm and 4,000sqm head offices for

leading business supplies company Officemax, the brief for this development was to

unify the two components as ‘Team Officemax’.

To achieve this, the sheds’ portal frame was extended out over the office component to

literally ‘bring it under the same roof’ and the two components are separated by an internal

atrium.

 

This atrium forms both a central ‘high street’ within which all social activity and

circulation occurs and the entry and exit points for everyone from the shop floor to the

boardroom.

This expression of ‘Team Officemax’ egalitarianism was designed to meet high

sustainability standards and was given an ‘excellence’ award by the Property Council

of New Zealand.
