The Penske headquarters was a design and build project completed with Ebert construction.
The program included a large industrial parts warehouse, distribution centre, truck workshop, diagnostic centre, retail store and office. The broad range of activities that were to operate out of this building required pragmatic coordination and effective planning in order to coordinate human, vehicle and heavy truck movements effectively, efficiently and safely. The building itself was divided into three clear spaces (office and retail, warehouse and distribution and workshop), all connected around a central employee hub. This enabled an effective separation between dangerous and secure areas.
The design drew heavily upon the existing 'penske trucking' brand, utilising iconography and building elements from american and international outlets, reinforcing the notion of a unified penske brand.
